Drag your PNG files onto the area above, or pick them from your device. The browser decodes each image, fills any transparent areas with the colour you chose, and writes the result out as a JPG.
Quality is set with the slider, and 85% is a good starting point. For photographs the saving is dramatic: a PNG of several megabytes routinely ends up as a JPG of a few hundred kilobytes with no visible difference on screen.
The background colour is a necessity, not a decoration. JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent parts have to be filled with something — white, black, or a colour you specify. The choice cannot be undone after converting, so if you are unsure, first check whether your image has a transparent background at all.

If the file is a photograph that happens to be saved as PNG — common with screenshots and exports from editing software — converting to JPG is almost always worth it. The file shrinks several times over and the visual difference is negligible.
If it is a logo, an icon, a drawing or a screenshot containing text, be careful. JPG compresses lossily and leaves visible smudging and haloing around sharp edges and small text. Those images look better as PNG, and they are small there anyway.
Most importantly: if you need the transparent background, this conversion is not for you. The transparency will be gone and it cannot be recovered.
Your images stay on your device
The conversion runs entirely inside your browser. The images you pick are not sent anywhere: this page has nowhere to receive them, so it has nobody to pass them on to.
Nothing from the file itself reaches our visit statistics — not the name, not the size, not the dimensions, not the content. We record only that a conversion started and whether it succeeded, the same as on any other page.
To be precise: the page still loads ads and visitor measurement like the rest of the site. The claim is about the contents of your files, which never leave the browser.
When you close or refresh the page, the selected images and results are gone from the browser's memory. Nothing is kept for next time.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs in your browser and the images never leave your device. The tool keeps working if you go offline after the page has loaded — that is the quickest way to check for yourself.
Is this converter really free?
Yes, completely. No sign-up, no trial period, no watermark on your images and no limit on how many times you use it. The only cap is 10 files per run, and that exists because of device memory rather than billing — start another run and carry on. The site is paid for by ads.
Why do I have to choose a background colour?
Because the JPG format has no transparency. Every transparent pixel has to be given some colour, and it is better that you pick it than that the tool assumes it. White suits most cases, but you can specify any colour for dark pages or special needs.
How much smaller will my file get?
For photographs, typically five to twenty times, depending on the quality you choose and the content of the image. For flat graphics with few colours the saving is far smaller, and occasionally the JPG comes out larger than the PNG.
Can I go back to PNG afterwards?
You can make a PNG from the resulting JPG, but that will restore neither the lost detail nor the transparency. Keep the original if you think you might need it.
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes, up to 10 files per run. They are processed one at a time so a large image cannot exhaust a phone's memory, and each file has its own status. If one file fails, the rest still finish and you can download them together as a ZIP.
